The importance of quantifying your headache

Given the multidimensional nature of pain and hence headaches, it is recommended that a number of measures are used to quantify headaches as each patients pain experience is unique. Measures such as the Headache Disability Questionnaire (Appendix 1) are used by physiotherapists in conjunction with any headache treatments to ensure that we can accurately measure each patients treatment outcomes and progress their rehabilitation programs to ensure your individuals goals are met.

As a general rule, it is recommended that measures used to quantify your headache should include headache frequency, pain and a measure of headache disability as seen in Appendix 1.

If you have headaches and want to obtain an individually monitored and tailored program to suit your needs, book an appointment with one of our qualified physiotherapists at Wilson Physiotherapy clinic.
